New England Village Notes
Even though the walking score looks low for this area, the bus stop is right out the door and across the street on the corner of the entrance to NEV, New England Village. The bus goes to Old Orchard – downtown Evanston
and other locations. Kids are picked up by school buses right across the street on the interior corner corner of Salem Lane – not on the corner by Golf.
Due to our area being Evanston/Skokie – We have an Evanston address and schools.
We have Skokie taxes and support services, and a Skokie telephone number. The correct zipcode is 60203 which is an Evanston zip code.
All changes to the property or home have to be okayed by the New England Village Board before being submitted to Village of Skokie for approval. NEV has a “Constitution and By-Laws” book and the “Rules and Regs” for NEV.
Some yearly fun happenings for villagers –
Winter potluck dinner party, adults only and it rotates among Village homes who want to host.
Bowling party sometime in late winter.
7/4 – Bike decorating for Central Park Parade. Baseball game at Central Park NEV residents
vs former residents and all who want to play men and women teams.
Children’s art show in Little Circle during summer.
Starting early June every Friday – – Friendly Fridays (entire family) start at 5pm. Individual homes
signup at the beginning of the summer for a Friday to host. BYOB and bring a snack to share.
Late summer – Family potluck dinner with music, kareoke, dancing, games, fire engine, etc.
